Adjustment of mechanical disc brakes на примере велосипеда Stels Pilot 950 MD 26.
First of all, unscrew the bolt fixing the brake cable to remove the tension.
Loosen the bolts that hold the caliper.
It is not necessary to twist it very much - it is enough to be able to change the position slightly.
We tighten the bolt that pushes the stationary brake pad, you need to find contact with the disc, but you should not put too much pressure on it.
We clamp the brake with our hand..
Keep the brake pressed against the disc and tighten the bolts.
For a couple of turns, unscrew the bolt of the fixed pad.
Scroll the wheel and make sure that the disc does not rub against the pads.
If everything is fine, we tighten the brake cable and check the effectiveness of the brakes.
If the disc slightly touches the stationary pad, unscrew it a little more. (See Step 7)
If the disc touches the movable pad, go back to step 4 and tighten the bolt a little looser.
